Early in the morning after breakfast, we will depart to Tarangire National Park. The park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In some places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands and lush groundwater forest. The park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffes, bushbuck, and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet!
After lunch and an extensive game drive, we will head for our luxury partner lodges near Tarangire for dinner and your overnight stay.
In the early morning, following a satisfying breakfast, our journey will commence towards Lake Manyara National Park, a pristine paradise renowned for its remarkable avian population and iconic tree-climbing lions. This national park is bordered by the striking western escarpment of the Rift Valley, while the eastern side is dominated by the shallow, alkaline Lake Manyara. The lake's expanse varies with the seasons, often transforming from a vast expanse to a dry terrain. During the rainy seasons, it becomes a temporary residence for thousands of graceful flamingos. The park derives its name, 'Manyara,' from the Maasai term 'emanyara,' which signifies a commonly used plant for crafting protective enclosures around family homesteads, also known as 'boma.'
Lake Manyara National Park boasts a rich variety of vegetation, ranging from sprawling savannah to evergreen forests. While exploring this diverse landscape, you may be fortunate enough to encounter giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and even the majestic sight of lions leisurely resting in the branches of trees.
Following a sumptuous lunch and an extensive wildlife safari, we will proceed to our partner luxury lodges in Karatu for a delectable dinner and a comfortable overnight stay."
Lake Manyara National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
"After your morning meal, get ready for an incredible journey as you head down into the Ngorongoro Crater, a fascinating natural wonder that goes almost 600 meters deep.
This extraordinary crater was formed a very long time ago, around two to three million years back when a huge volcano erupted and then collapsed on itself. It's not just known for its unique geology but also as a safe home for a lot of big animals, one of the largest gatherings in all of Africa. Going down into the crater is an adventure in itself. Once you're on the crater floor, you'll be surrounded by all kinds of wildlife, like wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and more than 500 types of birds. This untouched place gives you a great chance to spot the critically endangered black rhinoceros, which sometimes wanders the open grasslands.
After an exciting morning of exploring and a satisfying lunch, you'll go on a long game drive within the crater. As the day turns into evening, we'll make our way to our fancy lodge on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. There, you'll enjoy a tasty dinner and have a peaceful night's rest."
"In the early morning, right after breakfast, we'll set off for Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is truly breathtaking. It's famous for its vast open grasslands that make it easy to spot wildlife. This park is Tanzania's oldest and one of the most ancient ecosystems on Earth. Its weather and plants have stayed pretty much the same for millions of years. While the Serengeti is home to lots of animals, it's most famous for the yearly Great Migration. Huge herds of wildebeest, along with lots of zebras and antelopes, follow a yearly pattern, always looking for fresh grass to eat. The exact timing of this migration depends on the rainy season each year.
After a nice lunch and a long game drive, we'll head to our tented partner lodges for dinner where you'll spend two incredible nights."
"After your morning meal, you'll head straight to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar airport, ZNZ. You can arrange for a flight to the northern coast of Zanzibar, Nungwi, at an additional cost. Nungwi is known for its stunning white coral sand that seems to glow even after the sun sets.
Despite its liveliness, Nungwi can still feel like a secluded paradise. Its wide coastline is perfect for swimming and snorkeling in some of Africa's most pristine and reef-rich waters. Unlike many Zanzibari beaches with dramatic high and low tides, Nungwi's waters remain calm throughout the day, making it ideal for water activities.
You'll find plenty of things to do here, such as walking tours, sunset cruises, diving trips, and even parasailing. However, all it takes is witnessing a traditional dhow boat in the sea during sunset to be captivated by this enchanting African beach.
You'll have the pleasure of spending three nights in this amazing place."
