Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 4 October 2026. These terms apply whenever you enquire about, book or travel on a journey arranged by Lorexsafaris.
1. Enquiries and quotations
An enquiry made through our trip planner or enquiry form carries no obligation on either side. Prices and itineraries we send you are quotations only and remain subject to availability and change until a booking is confirmed in writing.
2. Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed once we receive your signed confirmation and a deposit, typically 30% of the total journey cost. The balance is due 60 days before departure, or in full at the time of booking for journeys starting within that window. We accept bank transfer and major cards; a card handling fee may apply.
3. Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing. Because we commit to camps, lodges and guides on your behalf well in advance, deposits are generally non-refundable, and cancellation charges rise as departure approaches — up to the full journey cost inside 30 days of travel. We will always tell you the exact cancellation terms attached to your specific itinerary before you book.
4. Changes to your itinerary
We will do everything possible to deliver the journey as planned. Occasionally weather, wildlife movement, road conditions or circumstances beyond our control may require us to amend a camp, route or activity; where this happens we will substitute an equivalent experience wherever we can.
5. Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance, including cover for medical evacuation, trip cancellation and personal belongings, is a condition of travelling with us. Please arrange this as soon as your booking is confirmed.
6. Passports, visas and health
You are responsible for ensuring your passport, visas and any required vaccinations or health precautions are in order for Tanzania and any other country on your itinerary. We are glad to advise, but the responsibility to meet entry requirements remains yours.
7. On safari
Safari travel involves wild animals and remote areas, and carries inherent risk. You agree to follow the instructions of your guide at all times for your safety and that of others.
8. Liability
Lorexsafaris arranges your journey with carefully chosen third-party suppliers — camps, lodges, airlines, guides and ground transport — each of whom operates under their own terms and conditions. Save where caused by our own negligence, we are not liable for the acts, omissions or default of these independent suppliers.
9. Force majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations where that failure results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, civil unrest, government action, pandemic or similar events.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
